Who we are
Here's the deal, Powerhouse of Praise and Deliverance stands firm in creating a NO JUDGEMENT ZONE for ALL. PHOP is a family of individuals that have found hope in God, and simply want as many people as possible to experience that exact same freedom.
Where we come from
In 2000, Apostle Towanda Armstrong started this church in the back of her beauty salon, Chi-Town Creations, in Radcliff, Kentucky. The following year, services were held at Fellowship Hub City Lounge for a few months before moving into our first building as New Age Outreach Mission for Christ. By 2004, God changed our name to Powerhouse of Praise and Deliverance to mark a new beginning in doing His will and being a light to this community. Apostle Armstrong faced a trying time in 2006 where we were without a church building and for an entire year, we held services in the park. We were the church without walls until 2007 when we acquired a building on Dixie Highway where we opened the first ever homeless shelter in Hardin County. As we continued to grow, we upgraded to our current location at 1105 Woodland Dr in Elizabethtown in 2017.
Where we're headed
What's the bottom line? More than ever, Powerhouse is committed giving back to the community and growing our ministry to reach the next generation of youth. And as we move forward as a church family, inclusion and transparency remain at the center of who we are as believers.
